ABOUT

The LPDI aims to encourage the development of new technologies and methodologies for monitoring of drugs in complex matrices and metabolism study. The main challenge is to stay ahead with creative ideas to existing models, developing alternatives and exploratory solutions in areas such as artificial intelligence, chromatography and mass spectrometry, developing procedures able to add value and be inexpensive to implement.

COORDINATION

Henrique Marcelo Gualberto Pereira

Coordinator of the Brazilian Laboratory for Doping Control (LBCD - LADETEC / IQ - UFRJ), a laboratory accredited by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). He holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2004). He is currently an Associate Professor at the Institute of Chemistry - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He has experience in the area of ​​Analytical Chemistry and Analytical Toxicology, with an emphasis on doping control, working mainly on the following topics: Doping in sports, gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, residue analysis in biological matrices and Mass Spectrometry and protein analysis by biological assays. In 2008 he became an affiliate member of the World Association of Anti-Doping Scientists (WAADS). Level 2 Researcher (CNPq - 2010 to 2016). Young Scientist of Our State (FAPERJ - between 2012 and 2015).
